The design of the room I stayed in felt like a mini apartment, which was refreshing compared to typical hotel rooms. I particularly enjoyed the view of the Gion neighborhood at sunset, as the orange glow really set a special atmosphere. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Yasaka Shrine and Nishiki Market, all just a short walk away.

It is an interesting property located in Gion district just off the mountain and restaurants around Gion and the river. The twin room is cosy and has a safe, central heating, and an iron with ironing board. The hotel is in the secluded location to many sights as well as a close bus stop that takes you straight to Kyoto station. Distance to the restaurant takes 200 metres...

Unique art installations make for a nice ambiance.
The lack of practical amenities was frustrating. Our room was small and lacked towel hooks. The breakfast options were limited, and having to schedule breakfast in advance was a hassle.

Personnel was helpful and friendly bilingual!
The hotel was unique and quaint, had unique rooms. I thoroughly enjoyed the room for towel after the shower, the bed was comfortable. The location was magnificent and unbeatable and next to a river and mountains. And I was next to restaurants and bars. Was an enjoyable base for trip.

This place is a culinary treasure! We devoured some very nice grilled dishes at the local izakaya Julia's, and breakfast included some good bites. The EYE room was jaw-dropping, after a fab shower, we kicked back and enjoyed a fine sunset view over Gion that blew us away.
Here's the kicker, an electronic party raged on and was so loud, it shook the walls! Our complaints to the staff weren't taken seriously, leaving us feeling quite unimpressed with the service. Still, the unique vibe of the hotel kept things interesting.

Staying at BnA Alter Museum offered a unique and artistic experience. The design in the room was captivating, and the spaciousness really surprised me. I enjoyed the fine view of the Gion neighborhood as the sunset cast beautiful colors across the room. The art installations really brought the place to life. The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable, lacking sufficient pillows. There wasn't enough furniture to keep my belongings organized, tough to settle in. I was also disappointed by the breakfast setup-having to schedule my meal in advance felt inconvenient and restrictive. Despite these issues, the hotel's artistic vibe and cleanliness made it nice.

We had an amazing stay, the unique art rooms were a refreshing change and well worth the price. The location was perfect for exploring charming narrow streets, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
The food for breakfast could be improved with a juice option alongside coffee.
